How to extract time and date info from DV clips in Movie Maker to a text file or DVD clips?

I've captured my DV tape and selected create clips which gives a nice list of the scenes by date. Now, how can I archive the time and date info? I've tried cut/copy/drag/drop to get it into notepad, no dice. Any ideas?

Btw, my end goal is a presumably common one, I want to archive my home dv movies into DVDs (the compression is ok), but while preserving the time/date info. Ideally, each clip would be a separate DVD chapter or title with the date as its name? Why is this so hard?.. waaahhhhh! :)

(I tried exporting to wmv and re-importing to see if it retains the time/date info. It doesn't, so if you back up your tapes to wmv, you lose it.)

It's part of the dv-info, which is available when using firewire, it is not
imprinted onto the video as in the days of analogue.
Have a look here for links to two apps which may help you out.
