How to enable the macro menu option in outlook 2007?

Hello,

I just installed a new version of outlook 2007 on my PC, in the tools menu
the macro menu options (macros / security / visual basic editor) are all
greyed out.

How to activate them??

Thanks,

Dhr Vernuft

If this is on a machine in your office, talk to your network administrator. That functionality may be disabled.

If not, rerun Office/Outlook setup and make sure that the VBA component was installed. Also, try closing Outlook then using Task Manager to make sure Outlook.exe has shut down. Then restart Outlook. You can also check Help | Disabled Items.

Hello,

This is a network machine and I am the network administrator. I've read
earlier posts also, with your same advice, however, there is no VBA option in
the setup and restarting outlook also doesn't work. Also, the disabled items
function in help is nowhere to be found. Or is this a server-side setting?

The Help menu should have a Disabled Items command. You can also get there through Tools | Trust Center | Add-ins.

Any chance you applied group policy to disable VBA?

There are no disabled items (found the option indeed). Also, when I manage
the com addins through the Trust centre, it states that the load behaviour of
the Microsoft VBA for Outlook addin is: Load on demand (currently loaded).

I didn't apply a group policy as far as I know, all the outlook 2003 members
don't have this problem..

Have you tried running Help | Detect and Repair on this machine? Logging in as a different Windows user? Disabling (for troubleshooting purposes) applications such as fax and PDA sync that might be starting Outlook without UI?

After running detect and repair I couldn't even find the VBA option again in
trust centre, I've removed office 2007 and reinstalled it, now, finally it
seems to work (which seems strange, because I'v reinstalled it yesterday
also..).

Thank you very much for your support!
