How to enable sound?

B

Brett

I have a motherboard with onboard sound. In device manager under Sound...,
I have one device listed as

Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC

The chipset is Intel Azalia Audio Device. I'd like to enable sound for this
machine. When I go into control panel | Sounds, nothing is listed under
playback. What do I need for sound to start working? Using Vista Ultimate.

Thanks,
Brett

You need sound drivers for your onboard sound - from the manufacturer.

Brett, is your Vista an upgrade version of XP?
Pl. check this:
http://www.idt.com/?id=3969
Before installing the driver,it tells how to uninstall the earlier drivers
and install new ones, as there are some issues with IDT (sigmatel) audio
drivers on Vista.
hope it helps.
