How to dispaly Arabic subject properly.

Hi, if someone send us email with Arabic in subject line the subject shows
funny character. But if I go to the Internet headers from the Options I can
see the subject properly in Arabic. If I fwd that email to Yahoo or
someother email provider the subject line show up properly in that email.
Problem is only when viewed from Outlook or OWA. We have Exchange 2003 on
server and use Outlook 2003 on Win XP SP1 as clients. Arabic fonts are
installed on client and also set to use Arabic for non-Unicode programs from
Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
Any suggestion which setting am I missing?
Thanks.

Usually Outlook guesses the character set or Encoding correctly
but whenever it doesn't you may pull down the Menu View:

View->Encoding->(and perhaps choose More)

You must be viewing the actual message (not just looking at it preview
in the browse window).

Pick each of the Arabic choices you have available -- usually one
of them, or Unicode/UTF-8 will show the message correctly.

You might also view the headers to determine if the endoding is listed
within them....

Hi Herb, Thanks for the reply but the only thing having problem is the
subject line. The body of the email display properly. The strange thing is
some of the emails shows ?????? in subject line, some shows other funny
characters but sometimes subject is displayed properly in Arabic so I don't
know where the problem is, may be on sender's ends?

I do a lot of this type of email (for an American at least) and
yet many of the 'rules' still mystify me....

I suspect that the email title is following some (limited) rules
of the HEADER and that the mime encoding of the message
itself is allowing the Arabic to work correctly there.

Perhaps a careful examination of the headers will show a
pattern in those that work versus those that don't.

It may be as simple as you suggest (on the users end) and some
email clients are sending the title correctly encoding/defined and
others are not.
