How to disable the "- shortcut" word ...?

Hello~~

Everytime i make a new shortcut on Windows Vista, it automaticly adds the
word "- shortcut" to the icon, e.g. "My Computer - shortcut".

How can i disables this feature... ?

You can get rid of "shortcut" totally if you don't like that word.
Just right click on any shortcut and rename it.

I'm going for a cleaner less cluttered desktop look, so most of my
desktop shortcuts I moved to the Quick Launch area. Then all the
shortcuts pop up as a sorted list when you click the little arrow at
left end of Task Bar that brings up the Quick Launch window. Takes a
little getting use to, but I like it.

I can't see any little arrow on mine? Is this something I might have
switched off somehow?

Funny, I'm just the opposite. I want to get rid of the little arrows!
