how to disable standby in microsoft XP

Open Power Options Properties...
Start | Run | Type: powercfg.cpl | Click OK |
Power Schemes tab | Under System standby, click the V
to display the menu and select Never | Click Apply |
Click OK

Yes, Wesley, it worked. After clcking on standby, the screen went black, but
then it came back on right away. After disabling, in order to enable it
again, , I changed never to 1 minute and restarted the computer. After
clicking on standby, it only took a few seconds for the computer to go on
standby. Is this the proper way to enable it again? Thanks. sonny

In the drop-down list, you can click any time period of inactivity that you
want to elapse before your computer goes on standby.
