Currently using Microsoft FrontPage to create my website. Browser: MSIE 6.

How can I disable the "edit with Microsoft FrontPage" option from the
drop-down menu under "File" by visitors in their browsers?

Please help! I find that people are constantly trying to access contents on
my webpages.

What do you mean "trying to access content" and what makes you think they are trying to edit your
pages??

Why would you want to? They're not editing YOUR page, just a copy that is
downloaded.
Please help! I find that people are constantly trying to access contents
on
my webpages.

That's why you have a web site, isn't it?

Let me explain something that might help you earn that "webmistress" title
of yours: An HTML document is a text document. The browser downloads a copy
of it , interprets the HTML text in it, and displays it in a visual way.
Note that the browser DOWNLOADS a copy of it. That means that, as soon as
someone navigates to a page on your web site, the computer has already
downloaded a copy of it. The "Edit with FrontPage" button is a mere
convenience, which allows the user to open the copy of the server file in
FrontPage with a single button-click. They could do the same thing by saving
the file (File|Save As...), and opening it in FrontPage. They could also
pull it out of their Temporary Internet Files folder, and open FrontPage to
edit it. Note, however, that I said a "COPY" of the file. There is no way
that anyone without your permission can edit your server files.

So, relax! Tomorrow is Friday, and Thursday is alost over! :)

Accessing content is what the web is all about - if you deny this then the
internet may as well not exist.

If you mean people are trying to copy your content, this is unavoidable since the
web page is downloaded to the users web cache when they view it.

Thank you, Steve and Andrew for your input. The reason I was becoming
concerned is that,,,
Some of my original graphics were being taken (although I disabled
right-click for "Save Picture As"). Several friendly visitors have alerted me
of this.
I apologize the misue of the workd "access"... I meant copy or take...

but as you explained, I suppose that this is unavoidable. In some instances,
I encrypt stuff in the source code, but some are able to decrypt it and take
images, scripts, etc.

OK... I should feel flattered that there are people out there willing to go
thru all that hassle to copy my contents.

Thanks, guys.

Thanks, Andrew. I understand that copying contents is unavoidable. Many of my
graphics are original, painstakingly created, and it's annoying that people
just take them without asking. I disabled the "Save Picture As", but doesn't
seem to stop them. Have a good weekend, guys.

Why don't you watermark your pics?, if someone uses them your web address
will be on them
