How to determine which program installs which fonts

Recently I noticed a family of fonts "DejaVu Sans" installed... even after
taking ownership of the fonts, I cannot delete them. How can I determine
which program installs these fonts, and how can I delete fonts that won't
delete?

Thanks,

Michael

Be careful when deleting fonts as the one you want to delete just may be the
primary font of one of your installed programs. Delete the font and that
program will/may not display properly.

Besides what Richard says, which is very good advice. You are probably
not able to delete the fonts because an application or service is opened
or started that requires the font and is currently using that font.

There's a Wikipedia article on DejaVu fonts, but it doesn't seem to tell
you what program may be associated with the fonts.

Check the Properties of the font, to see what the Created Date is, and then
go to Program Files and see what program was installed on that date and
time.
