how to delete page numbers ?

im using word 2007 & cant find any way to delete page numbers.yes ive
inserted the page numbers but find no way to remove it again.

help please

Page numbers are simply page fields in the header/footer view. Open the
header view either by double clicking the header/footer area or from Insert
Footer, delete the field and close the header/footer view.
