In PowerPoint 2003, I have a couple of file names on the Getting
Started window that don't go anywhere. They also appear in the recent
files list. The files were probably deleted using Explorer. How can
I delete these invalid names on the Getting Started page?

As you open and close other files, their names will replace the ones currently
on the list.

If you really really need to clear the list or at least replace the contents
with something else:

Fill the MRU (Most Recently Used) list with bogus file names

Thanks Steve. Somewhere back in the cobwebs I remember someone giving
that answer some time in the past. I'll try to remember this time.
