The help says to remove or reset tab markers, you simply move them off the
ruler..however, I am completely unable to do so...
Any ideas...this is driving me crazy!!

There are two types of gadget on the ruler that might be considered tab
markers. If you mean the gray ones that look like a square or a baseball home
plate, they can't be dragged off the ruler.

The black ones that look like an inverted T, a left or right facing L or the
like can be removed. Put the cursor on one, hold the cursor down while you
drag the marker downards off the ruler.

Thanks...so how would I undemote a bullet? I want to add a new high level
bullet and the tabs are being snarky...every time I try something, it demotes
further....I solved it temporarily by copying the text into notepad, cutting
the slide, then creating a new one and reimporting the text...way too sloppy
for my tatse...am I missing something vital here about bullets and tabs?? Or
do I have to forget about using styles and do everything manually..which,
btw, is also sloppy...

Click to put the text cursor at the beginning of the bulleted text then press
Shift + Tab (tab demotes, Shift+Tab promotes).

Works in the outliner too.

I want to add a new high level
