I uninstalled a program (The shield antivirus 2006) which did not delete the
desktop icon. When I right click the icon, there is no option to delete. How
can I get rid of this icon?

Hello Greg,

If you open Explorer and click on Desktop (at the top), highlight the
offending shortcut, and either click the delete icon on the toolbar or
File => Delete, does that do it?

Greg,

It could be a namespace icon. See if TweakUI Powertoy lists it.

TweakUI v2.10 for Windows XP SP1/XP MCE/2003 [147 KB].
