desktop icon shadows won't turn on/off

Hello,

I have 2 user names set-up on this computer. I can add/delete desktop icon
drop shadows from one user but not the other.

I have checked/unchecked performance boxes, made sure the desktop icons
weren't locked, using regular windows wallpaper, etc.

I know how to turn it on/off, but I can get rid of the desktop color boxes
on one user but not the other.

Corrupted file on one user only?

Anything I haven't tried?

Thanks.

Which part of, "I know how to turn it on/off ..." did you fail to grasp?

Perhaps the understanding missing is that each user has their own
profile and can be set up differently and this particular setting is a
per user setting, not a system wide setting.
