How to create 2 Columns in Word so I can type in each separately?

How do I create a Word document with 2 Columns so that I can type text in
each Column separately without what & how I type affecting each Column (i.e.,
so that each Column acts, in effect, like a separate document)?
 
You need a two-column (borderless) table.
