How to control table width

I am having some trouble controlling the width of columns
in a table at different screen resolutions.
I want a table that is basically 100% width (to fill the
screen at any resolution. But within that I need a column
with a fixed width (150 pixels) for the nav bar.

I cannot get a setting on cell/table width that will allow
the remainder column to just fill the screen available
(after giving the nav bar column its fixed amount.

I think this should be a fairly simple setting - can
someone help me please?

If you set the width of the table, and set one of 2 columns to a fixed pixel
width, the other should not need a width setting to fill the remaining part
of the table width.
