How to configure XPE to not show Welcome or Logon screens?

This XPE system will boot to the end user application.

How can XPE be configured to not show the "Welcome to Windows" screen or the
"Log On to Windows" screen/dialog?

No user name or password is used and the user is not to be aware that
Windows XP is running on this device.

thanks

Hi Jim,

you need the Autologon Component. If you need admin rights use the
Administrator Account (with a password). If not , add a Second User
Account witch belongs to the user group (or whatever) and use this
account with autologon.

the windows, that will be shown at logon (loading session data...bla
bla) can be disabled with a registry key.

tell me, if you need....

thanks ms,

This works pretty well.
Now, (with the Automatic Logon component) I don't have any logon dialogs to
enter.
Settings currently used:
Domain name: blank
User name: administrator
Password: blank

Now I am studying the registry entries that control the boot-up, welcome,
startup Windows screens. I'd like to customize the apperance of these
screens.
There a registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon...
....\UIHost
usually set to logonui.exe that seems to control the logon screen somehow.
I found another reference to this.

What is the significance of the "logon screen saver"?

I have an embedded base board (PC), that has a HDD (used for XPE
development) and a CF Disk (this is the XPE boot/run media). The CF is set
to fixed, so I can partition it and run EWF in the RAM mode ok. BIOS setup
controls boot HDD or CF. The FBA will not run if the HDD is enabled by BIOS
(some bug). But, EWF will not load if the HDD is found (i.e. plugged in),
even if it is not configured in the BIOS setup.

So, for each iteration of XPE build and FBA, I must power down, disconnect
the HDD IDE interface cable, etc. This takes some time. FBA is running on
the CF (without EWF, of course) so it is taking some endurance hits and FBA
is slow. I would like to run FBA and the test image of the XPE system on the
HDD in another partition. I have nearly managed to do this, but not quite.
It might not be possible. The method here, is to use My Computer\Manage\Disk
Management to change the Primary Partition from the HDD to the XPE Simulater
Partition (and back).

This is all working pretty well. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

thanks
