How to compact personal folders in Outlook 2002

When I used to use Outlook 98, after I archived folders and deleted
the remaining contents that were not worth saving, I used to compact
the personal folders, thereby reclaiming unused hard disk space that
my Outlook.pst file was still using.

Now that I am using Outlook 2002, I can't find any provision for
compacting. I just archived and deleted a bunch of stuff, and
although the Tools/Mailbox Cleanup utility reports that my Personal
Folders now occupy 216,805 KB, Windows Explorer shows my Outlook.pst
file to be 420,977 KB.

What am I missing here?

IIRC in 98 you can get the compact option by right clicking and/or using
the File menu, in 2002 it's somewhere in Properties.

it's in the same location - right click on the top level of the folders
(where outlook today is found) and choose properties, then advanced. (If the
system is idle, it will compact it automatically once you have 20% or more
'white space'. )

right-click on the root folder, select properties, Advanced in the General
Tab then "Compact Now"

Thanks to all of you who answered. You were correct.

I don't understand why the Compact utility should be buried so deeply
rather than directly in the Tools menu, and why the Help facility does
not even mention it.
