how to collapse a subform..

I have a subform within a subform (in datasheet view).
Access is "Encountering a problem" and closing down
completely when I have the second subform expanded, and I
move to a new record in the MAIN form (Single Form view),
when the next record has no related records in the second
subform. The only solution I can think of is to tell
it to collapse the second subform before moving to
another record. How do I do this? Or does anyone know
of a different solution? Thanks in advance!

What are the Master and Child Link Fields of the two subforms? Could
you explain what you mean by expanding and collapsing *the subform*?
Is it actually a Subform control on a form, or do you have just one
subform with a Datasheet and Subdatasheet?

It's for a Home & Garden show database, with 2 shows per
year, and with each company possibly having more than 1
booth in each show.
*The main form (Demographics-in single form view)
*1st subform (Linked by Company) gives Show
info ("Spring, 2004, this co. needs lots of dirt".
Datasheet view is the default view
*2nd subform (linked by company name and Show#)
gives booth info (booth#'s and sizes). When
this one is expanded and I move to a Company
(in Main form)with NO booths yet for that show,
Access closes down.

I'm still perplexed.

1. You cannot put a Subform onto a Datasheet form.
2. Subforms do not have an "expand" operation.

Where is the second subform? on the mainform, or on the first subform?
What action do you take to "expand" it? What are the SourceObject,
Master Link Field and Child Link Field properties of the second
Subform?
