How to Change XP Toolbar Background Color

H

HKL

Suddenly all my apps have a toolbar background color of light green
-- I believe they used to be gray or white -- it doesn't matter what I
open, be it MS Word, Excel, Powrpoint, Internet Explorer, Window
Explorer, Firefox, Thunderbird -- they all have the green-shaded
toolbar at the top of the screen, which is as annoying as all get-out.

Went in to Control Panel > Display Properties window > and then the
APPEARANCE tab.

The "Windows and Buttons" pull-down was set to "Windows XP". Played
around with the different pull-down ITEM options by clicking the
ADVANCED button, but could not get rid of the green toolbar background
color.

So, changed "Windows and Buttons" to "Windows Classic", messed around
with a few things and got the "green" to be a less-offensive "pale
green", but have not totally solved this issue.

So, any help much appreciated.

Try another monitor, and graphics card. A loose connection between the
tower and the monitor can also cause this. If there's a Degauss button
on the front or back of the monitor, that could clear it up too.
