how to change the default view in select names windows to showcont

when i create a new e-mail and click "to" to open the contact list, the
current default shows as "global address list" how can i change that so it
shows "contacts" under the outlook?

In that address book interface, click Tools>Options and choose which folder
yuo want to see first.
