How to change the Default Language on Xp Home Edition?Norwegian Edition. It
is possible to change the Default Language on a Norwegian Xp Home
Edition.???Norwegian Edition.
I received on my birthday 2 Xp Home Edition from my friends in Norway but I
cannot understood very well norwegian and both XP are TOTALLY in
Norwegian.Even the Instalation part is in Norwegian...EVERYTHING is
norwegian. Can I change the language in ENGLISH???
I will be satisfied just with an Interface in English but I couldn`t find a
program (MUI or LIP)to do that...all the programs need a English Edition.I
hope you understand my question because every time I ask for that people
misunderstood what I need and they give me MUI and LIP which i couldn`t use
it on a Norwegian Edition...maybe I need one for a Norwegian XP...but
WHERE???...

Thank You
Peter

Hi

You can't change the Language of XP. You would have to purchase an English
Retail XP CD. You can then either install that instead of the Norwegian
version
or dual boot both.

Windows XP is written in specific language versions, therefore one
cannot change it from one language version to another. You'll need
to purchase a "Full English Version" of Windows XP, then perform
a "clean install".

Ok.But can I put another INTERFACE LANGUAGE???...Like we do to all XP English Edition. For Example I have a XP ENGLISH EDITION...and with a program from microsoft.com I can change the interface in any language I want with MUI(on XP)...and LIP to the other. There is possible to do that with a Norwegian Edition.NOT TO CHANGE ALL...just the interface LIKE WE DO IT on a ENGLISH EDITION.WHY IS SO DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT???I SAID if is not possible to change all..it will be enough for me to change JUST the interface.I`m sure there is a solution but you are to busy to find out and Reply just with already prepared answers!!!That`s why maybe Microsoft is such a BIG PROBLEM...!

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS to
another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of WinXP
(in whatever language you want) to perform a clean installation.

It's not difficult to understand; it's simply not possible. The MUI
shell is designed to be installed only on the English version of WinXP;
it hasn't been ported to other languages.

The MUI pack is only compatible with an English version of
Windows XP Professional. It was not designed to work
with any other language version of Windows XP.

One cannot change the default graphical user interface language
of Windows XP Home Edition. It is hard coded in the system files.
And the MUI Pack was not designed to work with Windows XP
Home Edition at all.

It would appear that the problem is one of the user being capable of
recognizing and procuring the correct product for the intended purpose.
