How to change the default color from white to others in all apps ?

Hi there

I heard that I can change the default Windows color from white to
others e.g. whenver I open an Excel blank file, the background will
be, say light green, instead of the default white or ....
whenver I open an Microsoft outlook, the background will be, say light
green, instead of the default white.

Some say it is a good color to protect the eye (white is too
striking).

How can I do that? Where at Windows or Excel or Outlook should I set
up?

Thanks:)

Start
Settings
Control Panel
Display
Appearance tab
Advanced button
Item dropdown menu: Window
Color 1: dropdown menu: Other
Pick any color or click in the rainbow of colors
Now, with the slider at the right move it to the
shade of choice

OK your way out.

Keep the above to go back and change the color when wanted.

Application Background is what you want.

Application Background...
The background color of applications like MS Word with Word open and no
document open. Color 1 is the background color.

Window...
Color 1 is the background color and Color 2 is the font color. This will
affect such applications as Notepad, Wordpad and MS Word. Among other
things, it affects the Run box and the background for radio buttons in
Folder Options, for example.

For Window...
Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab | Advanced button | Left
click the white area where it says Windows Text | This will select Window
under Item | Color 1 is background | Click the V on Color 1 to expand the
Color 1 menu | Click a color | You can preview before you hit the Apply
button, the white background will change to whatever color you select |
OK your way out

Or do this.
Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab |
Advanced button | Under Item: click the V to expand the menu |
Scroll down and select Window | For background select Color 1 |
Click the V on Color 1 to expand the Color 1 menu | Click a color | You can
preview before you hit the Apply button, the white background will change to
whatever color you select | OK your way out

For Application Background...
Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab |
Advanced button | Under Item: click the V to expand the menu |
Select Application Background | For background select Color 1 |
Click the V on Color 1 to expand the Color 1 menu | Click a color |
No preview available for Application Background | OK your way out

Be sure your printer is set to print only the text, not the background, as
failing to do so will use up you color cartridges really fast. Check your
printer setup options to see if it can be designated to not print background
colors unless you want it.
