Hi,

msconfig is on the net somewhere, but doesnt come with win2000. Try this
first:

Remove the Program Shortcut from the Startup Folder :

1.. Click Start , point to Programs , point to Startup .

2.. Right-click the program shortcut, and then click Delete .
if the programs arn't here they might just be in the registry, so try this:

Use Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe) to locate and click the following key in
the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
If the program appears in the details pane (right side), right-click the
program, and then click Delete . Quit Registry Editor.

To find out your IP address open command prompt and type ipconfig.

Hope this helps :-)

I may be way off here....but I used to enter "mspcconfig"
(I think) and change, add or delete programs that started
up when my computer was turned on. My computer crashed
several weeks ago and very smart man has it going again.
Unfortunately a lot of things open up now that I don't
want or need and I can't remember how to go into the start-
up thing and "unclick" these programs so they don't start
everytime I reboot or turn the computer on. There also
is a way to find your IP address that is similiar to the
msconfig thing and I can't remember it either. Can
someone out there help me? I'm an antigue when it comes
to this stuff. Please and thank you.

It's msconfig by the way, and it's not a Windows 2000 component. You
can download the XP version and it's supposed to work fine in W2K. Just
do a search on the net for it, it's all over the place. Personally I
prefer CodeStuff Starter: http://codestuff.cjb.net/

Win98 and WinXp have MSCONFIG, but Win2k does not... be VERY
CAREFUL what you disable, or your computer may not run at all
This program does that http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
