How to change "Generic / text only" default folder

My "generic / text only" driver sends the output to
the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT"
folder.

Is it possible to change its default folder to something
simpler, for example "E:\Carl\text"? If yes, how to do it?

Bring up the properties for the printer, and under Ports, click "Add
Port". Select "Local Port", and type the full pathname and filename as
the "port". This file will be overwritten each time a new document is
printed.

If that solution is not good enough, in a recent posting Tony Edgecomb
recommended a commercial product of his that may help. I haven't tried
