How to boot XP via NTFS?

Hello:

My Dell system will not boot into WinXP Hone edition due to the message
"Operating system Not Found"
I've perused Microsofts knowledge base and other avenues to no avail. The XP
boot disk doesn't even work! Is there a way to boot into the OS via a boot
disk of another flavor?

Is your system set to boot from the CD drive first? If so, put the restore
CD in and reboot the computer.

If this doesn't work, you can obtain information about making boot floppies
