I am currently getting TONS of emails with subject lines like:
Re: Sample, Re: Your Document, Hi, Hello, etc etc. You probably hav
seen these insidious little attachments in the hopes you will ope
them. It has been only today when I saw a DRASTIC increase into my i
box though.
Doe the action of going into TOOLS>MESSAGE RULES>MAIL and the
creating a "new mail rule" really work though? I listed many keyword
in there and this is where my question lies...do I put commas afte
each subject line I want to automatically delete?
For instance, I typed "photo document" as one of the subject lines fo
incoming emails to delete and after setting the action, I still notic
these particular messages coming through though.
Any feedback, suggestions etc

BTW, this is a group about MS Outlook. Despite the name, it's a
different program from Outlook Express. You should ask this in a a
group for Outlook Express. And be sure and state what version.

However, as long as you're here: Those are almost certainly virus
infection attempts.

I think your best bet is to ask your ISP to set their virus filters
(if they have them) to just delete those emails entirely.

You can also complain to the sender's ISP. (not the address in the
From field, that's usually fake). Some ISP's take action and cut off
their infected customers. You'll have to look at the headers for
this.

The only time I got flooded with a virus and tried to stop it using
Outlook rules, they worked, but I had to keep adding new rules. I
think it took about 8 or 10 to finally catch all the variations.

I don't use OE, but AFAIK, you probably ought to create a new rule for
each suspicious word or phrase in the incoming email. And that will
be difficult because of how common those words are.
