I want to restrict the resolving of a bunch of subdomains which resolve
to a handfull of IP's.

The problem is, that they are presented as uX.X.spylog.com which is an
alias for ru0(1,2,3)-hits.spylog.com

ex:
u100.10.spylog.com -> ru03-hits.spylog.com
u200.20.spylog.com -> ru03-hits.spylog.com
u1000.10.spylog.com -> ru03-hits.spylog.com

Filling the host file in %systemroot%\drivers\etc\hosts with all the
possible aliases does not look as a good idea....

Try the following 3rd party software, some are a bit
clumsy but all seem to work a treat.

PeerGuardian v1.98b (2.0 pre-release) http://xs.tech.nu

SpyBot Search & Destroy (held on various sites) VG

Good luck
