How to backup mails, calender ect. in Outlook 2007?

I currently backup the folder in wich the large .pst file is stored. In case
of crash can I import all mails, folder, calender appointments ect. from the
..pst file?

The pst file does indeed contain all your Outlook data - email, calendar,
tasks, contacts.
Yes you can use this to restore your Outlook data, but NOT by using the
import function. just copy the file to your HDD, (do not overwrite ant
existing file) and in Outlook go to File-Open-Outlook Data file.

As an alternative to what Gordon said about File>OPen>Outlook Data File, you
could also use the Mail applet in Control Panel to make the PST your
delivery locaton immediately after restoring the PST.
