How to add old NTFS volume to new install

I am about to rebuild my Windows XP workstation.
My PC has two physical hard drives.
The first physical hard drive is my 'C' drive and will be
wiped and have Windows XP re-installed on it. The second
physical hard drive is currently formatted using NTFS is a
Dynamic drive. This drive has all of my work files on it
and they are too large to offload so I do not want to lose
the contents of this drive.

My question deals with what is the procedure to do this?
I need to reformat the first physical hard drive, re-
install Windows XP, and then add the pre-existing NTFS
volume without losing any of the data on the NTFS drive.

Can anyone refer me to the documentation or steps involved
in doing this?

Thanks
