How to access EZ-partitions on a slave HDD

H

HKM

I was using this drive in an old PC (Win'98 SE) with EZ
utility partitioning the drive in 4 partitions of 10 GB
each.

Recently I bought a new system where I have installed the
same as slave. Win XP recognizes only 1st partition.

When I tried to load only this drive (as master) only with
the original drive removed. The BIOS did not recognize the
drive only. (I did this with a hope to move my most
important data from other partitions to the main
partition).

Is there a way I can recover data from the other partitions
under XP with this drive as a Slave?

Pl. advise.

Partition MAgic 8 has is an awsome progrma for
Partitions. You can Hide, Unhide, Change to FAT32, back
to NTFS. That might be your best bet to get it to a point
where the system can see it and then yu can get your data.

As a Simple Check.... What does Disk Management Say the
Disk IS. (Under Admin Tools... Computer Management) The
Partition may not have a drive letter assign to them.
Hope it's that simple.
Good Luck,
Steve

You can go to run,type:cmd
In cmd type:CHKDSK D: /R D: being the hd in question,
for a list of volumes on the drive, type:DiskPart
Then type:list drives or list volumes When youre thru
type:EXIT For info in either type:HELP

Hi,

You'll probably have to install the same drive overlay software (ez utility)
as was used to create the partitions in the first place.
