I have been using Yahoo Messenger off and on for years,
but I noticed that every time I uninstall and reinstall
the messenger, it leaves something behind. Namely the
Yahoo buttons. In Internet Explorer 6.0 under the
the "Tools" tab between "Windows Update" and "Internet
Options" I have 7 "Yahoo Messenger" buttons for easy
access to the Messenger. When you click on this button,
it is suppose bring up Yahoo Messenger. THe problem is of
course, I have 7 of them. Also under my "Add/Remove" I
can't remove Yahoo Toolbar. The toolbar doesn't exist in
my I.E. anymore, but the name still remains in
my "Add/Remove." How do I get rid of all these?
That is not the only problems, the same thing happened
when I setup my old Internet Service Provider. On the top
of my Internet Explorer, it still says Intergate. Right
now on this web page it says "Microsoft Newsgroups -
Intergate." The name is always there on the blue blue
part on top of Internet Explorer. Intergate being the
name of my old Internet Service Provider. THere was no
special software associated with the installation. It
only was suppose to configure my dialing properties for
me. There was not conventional uninstall either.
Even "Add/Remove" feature was not supported for the
uninstallation. I had to manually delete everything
associated with the Internet Service Provider. How do I
remove this?
I have Windows 98 Second Edition with Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0.
