How the DNS server is pinted to an ip address

Dear all,

Suppose I registered a domain name mydoamin.com in
godaddy.com. And I pointed this domain name to name server
ns1.mydomain.com. As I found, ns1.mydomain.com is pointed to an ip
address 203.185.xx.xx. So I want to know how is it in internet that
ns1.abc.com is pointed to this address 203.185.xx.xx. Is it pointed in
godaddy.com or pointed in anywhere in internet.

Maybe I can simplified the question like that: I got a dns
server ns1.mydomain.com. Where is in internet ( network solutions or
godaddy.com) that ns1.mydomain.com is pointed to 203.185.xx.xx.

Thanks for your help.

You are far better of to leave it on GoDaddy's
professionally, maintained/high-bandwidth, 24/7
support, power backup-reduncancies etc.

It's free -- or rather you already payed for it.

Then you use their Web pages to manage your
PUBLIC Internet DNS there.
As I found, ns1.mydomain.com is pointed to an ip
address 203.185.xx.xx. So I want to know how is it in internet that

It has to be pointed from NS1.abc.com to the IP address
in th COM zone (which GoDaddy registered for you if you
filled out the forms correctly.)

It will also be listed (typically) in the zone itself.

Reason it has to be in COM zone is that people looking
for you have to find the resolution before they find your
server which has the (full) zone.

The combination of the NS records and the corresponding
A records are usually called "Glue Records" but are
technically termed "delegation records."

The NS record delegates the zone (mydomain) from com
to YOUR Nameserver (name), and the A record for that
name makes it actually resolve to the address.

godaddy.com) that ns1.mydomain.com is pointed to 203.185.xx.xx.

In COM zone. (that's really what you PAY for when you register.)

(And also in mydomain.com itself)
