How stop a folder loading on startup?

I have reinstalled XP Prof. After loading XP it opens a folder called
"Program" on the desktop. This is a folder I created but do not want
it to open everytime windows starts. How can I stop it? It does not
appear in Startup folder. Tried to run "Msconfig" and is not there
either.

What makes it load plese?

Somewhere in many windows startup places is start request for any program
from folder "c:\program files\...". As long as there is no folder called
c:\program, windows "knows" to search from "c:\program files". So the
problem is the space in folder name. You have too options:

1. remove the "c:\program" folder
2. find out which program is started from "c:\program files\..." (there may
be many) and check that each starup string is enclosed with quotes. For
example you migth have start request like: c:\program files\Microsoft
Office\fastfind.exe. Note that this is without quotes. So add quotes and you
have "c:\program files\Microsoft Office\fastfind.exe". Now windows won't try
to start c:\program.

SDR,
try:
click 'Start' > 'Settings' > 'Control Panel' > 'Folder Options', click into
the 'View' tab, scroll down and uncheck 'Restore previous folder windows at
logon', 'OK', logoff, then logon
