I run Disk management a lot so I just use a shortcut with
"discmgt.msc" as the Target.

I also select "Run: Maximized" on the shortcut properties.

But each time Disk Management runs it starts with a small window.

How can I get it to start maximized?

John,

Using a shortcut like this doesn't work but there is another way to do this
so that it works like you expect.

1. Launch mmc.exe
2. Press Ctrl + M
3. when 'Add/Remove Snap-in' dialog appears click 'Add...' button
4. when 'Add Standalone Snap-in' dialog appears select 'Disk Management'
and click 'Add' button
5. If a dialog appears asking you what computer to manage just click
'Finish' button
6. Click 'Close' button on 'Add Standalong Snap-in' dialog
7. Click 'OK' button on 'Add/Remove Snap-in' dialog
8. Make mmc console window maximized
9. Open File menu and choose 'Save as...'
10. Choose where to save the new .msc file

Now when you open this new .msc file it should save the window size of when
you last closed it.

I hope this helps,

Open the Disk Management Console in Author mode (right-click and choose
Author). Maximize the Window. Exit the Console and when you are prompted
to "Save console settings to diskmgmt.msc?" click Yes.

For more information on "Authoring MMC consoles", click the Help Icon in any
MMC and search for the words in double-quotes.
