How restore Outlook?

On XP SP1 have never used Outlook until now. GUI opens but every
selection leads to error message "x not implemented" where x=whatever I
selected. What happened and how do I get it back???

Have you tried re-installing Outlook?
 
what version of Outlook? I read awhile back on the outlook group about
something similar and version did matter.
