HELP!!! Please!! I saved documents I had been working on from an attachment.
They were Word documents saved in an outlook folder OLK###. I cannot access
the document itself. I can find them; however, when I try to open I can see
the Word document but cannot open it. PLEASE help. I am used to MAC and do
not understand the workings of these PCs.
Thanks

I would recommend, in order to save future frustration, that when you open a
document that's attached to an email you save it off the email first before
you work to edit it.
However that doesn't help you now. There is an OLK folder but you have to
unhide it. When you open Windows Explorer, click on Tools then Folder
Options. Then click on the View Tab. Click "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
and also uncheck "Hide File Extensions for Known File Types".
What I would suggest next is to search for the OLK folder, it'll be the
fastest way. Click on Start, then scroll up to Search, type in the name of
the folder or file there. You can use * as wildcards on either end of the
folder name to broaden your search. When the correct item is found,
doubleclick it. +

Not required. Since she knows the name of the OLK filem she can simply open
Windows Explorer and, in the Address field, enter the name of that folder,
like this:

%userProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK###

and click Go. The contents of the folder will display and she can move the
document wherever she wishes.

Thank you everyone. Brian, I tried your suggestion, to no avail. The
document appeared to be there, I opened it; however, again, a picture of the
Word document was on it and when I clicked on the Word pic I received the
following message: The document was created in Outlook and could not be
opened. I guess I will have to give up and start over. Thanks again
everyone for trying to help this Mac user, sigh.
