How much of a discount will XP x64 users get on Vista?

Just wondering, because we,x64 users, seemed to have always been last in line
for any of the advancement of software, lack of, beta's,and support. Now that
vista 64 is going be the new bleeding edge that hardware and software is
supposedly going to have to deal with, even though 32bit seems to be
mainstream, will there be a substantial incentive to upgrade to Vista 64?Just
wondering because I'm still waiting for my bells and whistles to go off. Or
maybe xp 64 should get a nice sp2,like xp 32 got,then I don't have to spend
any money on vista 64.
thanks,
Gunite

I feel the same, x64 users who have lived on the bleeding edge for so
long, should be given a break for Vista x64.. I doubt it will happen,
Micro$oft and all that...

You will get the upgrade price, whatever that amounts to in your currency
and at the vendor you use, and also for the version you choose. Check
Amazon for prices in US$ as they are listing all of the versions for
pre-sale. Using upgrade versions does, however, invalidate the X64 license
and will require a clean install.

The following was posted in the x64 newsgroup

Hello,
In regards to this
<of "...an upgrade copy to a corresponding or
<better edition of Windows Vista,..."
Since we have more editions of Windows Vista inclucling the Windows Vista
Ultimate.
The upgrade media would allow you to use Windows XP Professional as the
installation that meets the compliance check.
You could then install either Windows Vista Business edition which would be
the "corresponding" SKU
Or you could install Windows Vista Ultimate would be a "better" version
since it has additional functionality
