How long not connected.....

After XP is joined to a domain.

How often does a computer have to connect to maintain the union.
In other words....

If I have a remote mobile user has not re-connected to the local network in
X months is that ok? Slove for X.

How long can a computer NOT authenticate against the domain before it causes
problems?
