How Kill Event Notifications

C

chuck

When I log into my dial-up ISP, or when another
computer (in the house) boots up and connects to
my XP machine, I now get an annoying little notification
down in the system tray. Looks like a small white
balloon with an ! and text. I can't find any GUI to kill
it. I don't want to hide the actual Network Connection
icons; I just want to kill the notification.

Backup the registry first: http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/registry.htm
--

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced. Modify "EnableBalloonTips" and set the Value to 0. To restore set the Value to 1.
