How I can clear the AD to a server 2003 without using the /forceremoval option of dcpromo.

With single dcpromo it gives the following error:
Active Directory could not find another controller of domain to transfer the remaining data in the partition of DC=ForestDnsZones directory, DC=Midomain. \"The specified domain does not exist or connection with \ could not be established" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

thanks and a greeting.

Looks like you're having problems with DNS. Make sure your DNS is 100%
solid and you can locate another DC to replicate from.
If that fails, try the steps in the below procedure as a *last resort*:

1) On another DC in the domain run NTDSUTIL to seize the FSMO's.

2) Make sure DNS is 100% solid on the working DC.

3) Make sure working DC is also a GC

4) Boot corrupt DC into ADRM, edit the registry change
HKLM\SYSTEM\CCS\Control\ProductOptions change the ProductType value from
LanmanNT to ServerNT.

5) net stop ntfrs to stop FRS.

6) delete winnt\sysvol and NTDS directories.

7) reboot the now former DC

8) Log into the now member server. Change it to a stand alone, by
joining a workgroup

9) Reboot the now stand alone server.

10) On the good DC delete the disabled computer account for the old, now
defunct DC

Of course, you'll need the restore mode admin password, I hope you have
it ;)
