Hi,
We just installed SBS2003 (replaced SBS4.5) and was
attempting to reauthorized the computer to the server.
Since both servers had the same domain name (we are doing
a hot swap) the thought was to reset the computer on the
domain. I went in and changed the domain name to a
workgroup and rebooted. Except the password for the
administrator does not work. As a result, I can't log
onto the computer. Any suggestions on how to get past
this - by the way, this machine does not have a floppy
drive.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rich

I can see three areas where substantial improvement can
be made:

a) Always have at least two local admin accounts.
b) Never take a machine off the domain unless you know
than the local admin account works.
c) Always compose a meaningful Subject line to attract
the best respondents, e.g. "Password Problems",
unless you're happy to get comments from every
Tom, Dick and Harry in response to your chosen
Subject line.

With respect to your current issue: Burn a bootable
CD from the floppy disk downloaded from here:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html,
then boot the machine with it and reset the admin
password to a blank.

Hi,

Thanks. All computers were setup with the same userid
and password - except for this one. Your help is
appreciated. I will now carry this crack CD with me. I
am back into the computer

Thanks again - I really appreciate your help.
