how does windows defender update itself with new spyware definitio

i have the final version of windows defender,and there is nowhere in the
options to update windows defender with the latest spyware definitons. Where
do i find this?Do i have to download them manually?

WD is updated via Microsoft update. You can do a manual update by clicking
the down arrow to the right of the question mark. "Check for Updates" is
the second item on the drop down menu.
