Hello all......

In trying to do a back up of my site today (after logging onto my site in
FP...using publish web and then directing it to my hard disk) I am getting
an error message that directs me too the server log.

The server log seems to suggest that some themes are missing and a help
article I found suggests either removing the themes from the pages or
uploading the themes.

Since I "inherited" this site and it is massive.... I would really prefer
uploading the themes but I'm not sure how to accomplish it. Can someone
point me to an article of get me going?

Thanks

The files for each Theme reside with a subfolder named for
the Theme, and within the _themes folder of your Web.

If one or more of these are missing, I suppose you could
copy the theme's folder from another site that used the
same Theme, from the same version of FrontPage.

But first, I'd open the live site in FrontPage, and then
create and save a new page that uses the "missing" theme.
Even if this is a blank paged linked to nothing, it should
make FrontPage upload the theme for you.

Hi Jim......

The last part of your tip sounds like the best thing... I will give it a
try. Thanks!
My main concern was that these folders are hidden and I was unsure about
uploading to hidden file manually.

If you publish via the feature in FP then these files ought to be published
with the rest of the site? Maybe re-apply the theme?

Thanks Andrew......

I was trying to use the publish web feature to back up my site to my hard
disk as I had made a number of "live" updates. This usually works fine but
in this case some missing themes seemed to be causing an error so I needed
to upload them to the server.

THE REAL PROBLEM, however, was NOT missing themes but some files and file
types that FP was choking on. ( I'm not shouting at you or anything... just
adding emphasis and a huge amount of frustration at FP! )

I've used this back up method a lot.... why FP is just now choking on the
files.. I'm not sure but I am making progress.

Best to all........
