Check Device Manager for devices with a yellow circled exclamation mark which means they aren't setup correctly. On a reboot, Windows is again attempting to redetect hardware, and it tries to find drivers for the ones that weren't working before. If you have no idea how to fix the screwed up devices, disable them (don't uninstall them else Windows will see new hardware on the next reboot).
When this message appears, allow windows to 'find' a driver.

During the process there is a checkbox which appears in one of the dialogue boxes, this will 'prevent windows from attempting to install the device in the future'.
