How do you remove a recurring appointment set up by another person

I I have a recurring appointment with no end date that was sent to me by
someone and I accepted. This person is no longer with the company and I
cannot remove the recurring appointment from my Outlook Calendar. The
"Remove Recurrence" button is not available to me. Does anyone know how
might remove this recurring appointment from my calendar?

See if this works: create another folder that holds Calendar items, then
display your original Calendar in a table view, select the item, then drag it
to the second calendar folder. If that works without a problem, delete the
added calendar folder.
