How do you open simple e-mail attachments such as jpeg files

Recently outlook began blocking jpeg, Access and other attachments to email
that I used to be able to open easily. Where do you go to change the
attachments Outlook is blocking? How do I get Outlook to accept attachments
of any kind from specific e-mail addresses.

That is my question as well. Since the problem is "recent" here, as with
yours, perhaps all this came about as result of security updates. I will
follow this thread and hopefully someone will help us be able to receive
attached jpgs.
The imbedded/inserted jpgs still coming through OK.

You've probably applied a security update (as you should!). AFAIK, jpegs
aren't blocked by any OL security update, but other file types are. I do
suggest you tell your senders to zip the file attachments anyway (for this
and many other reasons), but also see

Thanks much, Lawrence. Site is very interesting and helpful. My Outlook
error messages says: "Cannot find the URL" when I attempt to open or save a
jpg. Perhaps sender's program is at the root of this problem. Issue
probably more complicated than I know.
Appreciate your information!

I'm not certain what form sender intended. when jpg arrives, the bottom of
screen gives all the usual warnings that amount to don't open this or die but
file is clearly something.jpg. then when I click and attempt to open or
save, I get "cannot find the URL." Maddening. Sender is generally reliable
and safe with emails. Even if she weren't, I would prefer to have option of
opening whatever it is and facing the consequences should there be virus or
whatnot. Orwell said 1984 was the year of Big Brother. He was a bit early...

Thanks Lawrence for your help
