how do you insert filename in footer in PowerPoint?

I want to insert a filename field in the footer (or elsewhere) that will
automatically update when a file is saved under a different name -- as in a
new version. I can do this in an Excel footer; can it be done in PowerPoint?

Sorry, no. The only updating field available for PowerPoint footers is the
date.
