Is there a way to set Windows XP to boot up into windows
without a logon screen?

Thanks!

Please send me your reply to my email address....thanks!

Carol,

Solution 1:
Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
option, and click Ok.

Solution 2:
If you have one user account and no password configured, Windows XP will log
you in automatically. Otherwise, you'll have to do the following:
Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI.

Download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon.
Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your
username and password, and click Ok.

First go to Control Panel - User Accounts - click Change way users log
on and select to use the Welcome screen.

If you only have one user, aside from "Administrator", it will show a
Welcome and continue to log you on, of ask for your password if you have
one.

Next stage is Start - Run the line
control userpasswords2
and uncheck the box 'Users must give a Username. . .'. Then when you
click Apply it will ask what username and password to use - that way it
will even bypass Welcome (but the machine is open to anyone who
switches it on)
