How do you figure out the profile best for your DVD player

How do you figure out the profile for my DVD player? Per below?


"....If you intend to save your story on your computer, and then create a
Video CD (VCD) or a DVD, in the Settings dialog box, select the profile that
is recommended for your VCD or DVD player. Then import the story into a VCD
or DVD authoring program that supports WMV files and burn the story onto a CD
or DVD... or use Movie Maker to convert the story into a DV-AVI file for your
authoring software.."

Do you have a dvd burner?
If so, make a dv-avi file from Movie Maker and import this into the dvd
authoring app which came with the burner.
Make dvd as per apps instructions.
If you only have a cd writer then you need to make a vcd or svcd and apps
like nero will make this for you. Again, it's best to export from MM as a
dv-avi.
Also check www.dvdhelp.com and see what your home dvd player will play, as
some will play vcd's and others not the same with the different types of dvd
+/- etc
