How do you disable a keyboard shortcut?

The keyboard shortcut for going to the previous page in IE is ALT+LEFT ARROW
or BACKSPACE. I want to find a way to disable the BACKSPACE shortcut. If
I'm typing an email in IE, sometimes (maybe I've accidentally clicked outside
of the text box) when I hit the backspace I go back a page and lose what I've
typed. It seems unnecessary to have 2 shortcuts for this action and since
going forward a page is ALT+RIGHT ARROW it only makes sense to get rid of the
BACKSPACE shortcut. Anyway, just looking for a way around this problem by
changing IE's behavior and not my own. Thanks.

I'm not sure, but this question is worth bumping.

Personally, I'm in favor of the backspace shortcut and use it a lot, but you
aren't the only person to have a problem with it:
